"Process Data Analysis: Examples from the Pulp and Paper Industry"
Abstract
In recent years, in-line monitoring and multivariate data analysis (MVA) have been used by numerous chemical industries as powerful tools in order to reduce time for quality measurements, to improve process control without perturbing the system and to reduce waste as well as to increase product quality, while at the same time reducing production costs.
In this presentation, after giving a brief introduction of the different multivariate methods, we will present several examples where MVA has been applied for on-line process monitoring/fault detection, experimental design and inferential/predictive control.
We will also show some of the projects that are in progress at the 3 Canfor mills in Prince George.
Light refreshments will be served
