Seun (Sean) Oyebanjo-Odofin for Director of Student Affairs
I am a grad student in the department of international studies. I love music, dance, travelling and meeting people. My hobbies have helped me build my love and interest in social activities, which I believe is an avenue to learn new things, discover new cultures, meet people from other places and discuss about issues, while having fun.
I have been involved in organizing events in the past, which involve bringing people of different lines of work together to have fun; such experiences give me more enthusiasm to keep getting involved in organizing activities.
One of my most recent involvements was as part of the organizing committee for the Black History Month event held at CNC on February 278th, where I was also the Master of Ceremonies for the Fashion Show.
As a university student, I have been involved in activities set up for the benefit of the student body. Any complaints brought up are always looked into, so as to make sure the environment is conducive for all.
I look forward to working with the student body of the Northern BC Graduate Students’ Society and other officials to have the best of learning and fun experiences. Thank you.
Sang Eun Kim (Eunice) for Director of Student Affairs
My name is Eunice Kim and I am a first year MCPS MSc Chemistry student working on cancer research. Over my undergraduate years at UNBC, I have been actively involved with various volunteer organizations and student clubs. I served in one of the executive positions at Golden Key Society and was involved in bi-weekly meetings and community events such as daffodil sales for the Canadian Cancer Society. I also held a leadership position in an international volunteering team to Kazakhstan, Russia, Dominican Republic, etc., overseeing pre-trip instruction sessions, on-site community services, and social events.
Currently, I serve as a volunteer student liaison for the International Student Ministries of Canada, Prince George branch. Here, I am actively engaged in organizing new student welcome sessions such as games nights, gym nights, and bi-weekly international student dinner nights.
I believe the role of Director of Student Affairs is to provide services for students to meet their academic, personal, and career needs. These services should be readily accessible and available to all students in a timely manner. I am committed to enhancing the Graduate Students’ Society (GSS) to work closely with individual students, faculty, and the University. I also believe that delivering the student voice to the GSS and developing more interdisciplinary seminars such as the Annual Graduate Conference are my priorities.

Shah Nahid Mahmud for Director of Finance
My name is Shah Nahid Mahmud (Nahid) I come from Bangladesh. Here, I am studying MSc in Computer Science. I joined UNBC last September. Before coming here, I worked for four different private companies. During that period, I was also engaged in administrative and finance related work for my employers. Moreover, I have organized five different cultural and social events for my previous companies in Bangladesh.
Siraj ul Islam for Director of Finance
I am a PhD student in NRES UNBC. I have skills and experience in financial management. At my previous institution I was responsible for managing the finance of a student club. I am confident to maintain the responsibilities as Director of Finance for NBCGSS.
Yun Liang (Rachel) for Director of Finance
Born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, “home of businessmen”, I inherit the fine tradition of being economical and budgeting strictly.
I was life secretary in charge of general daily class affairs in high school three of my main responsibilities were to keep track of the use of money, reimburse, and raise funds for class events. Communication with the whole class was essential to my job because they had the right to be informed where the money went. The budget and financial reports needed to be clear and open to all.
When I was studying for my bachelor degree in China, I was also shouldering the duties of budgeting, reimbursing and fund raising as a director of general life. As keeping every record of the use of money, I was becoming more and more careful and sensitive about numbers and aware of the importance of making financial plans.
Besides taking my subject courses as an English major, I also took a minor course in accounting for a semester from which I have learned to keep accounts and other helpful tools.
I used to work for a company producing various kinds of baskets for export. I helped them with recording and quoting prices for goods.
I believe I am equipped with skills of being a director of finance and I am always willing to learn more during the course and perfect myself to do the best.
Manbir Chohan for President
I believe that actions speak volumes more than words and I like to express my respect and love for others by using a practical down-to-earth approach. I am a diligent, hard worker, and quick learner, who is always willing to lend a helping hand but only if it is for the good of all concerned.
I have gained an undergraduate degree and two years of work experience at UNBC. My prior knowledge about UNBC and the respectable connections I have made and maintained over the years with UNBC students, staff and faculty would make me an excellent candidate for the position of NBCGSS President. MD. Wahedul Islam for Director of Information and Technology
I am from Bangladesh. I came to UNBC last September, 2009, to pursue my research-based MS degree in computer science. I am an easy going, approachable friendly guy. Moreover, during my undergraduate program, I was elected as vice-president of Computer Science for the Student Association at Rajshahi University in Bangladesh. I love to make new friends and explore new places.
