The Northern British Columbia Graduate Student Society (NBC-GSS) Health & Dental Plan was initiated through a student referendum held in April 2005. All graduate students who are members of the GSS are automatically enrolled, including full-time and part-time students, students based at regional campuses, and students enrolled in Internet-based courses. The cost of the plan will be included in your student fees, effective September 2005.

Students covered by another plan (i.e., parent or spouse's plan), may combine this plan with the NBC-GSS Plan to maximize overall coverage and save on health-care costs. Alternately, students with other coverage may choose to opt out within the Change-of-Coverage period (see below) by providing proof of equivalent alternative health and dental benefits to studentcare.net/works. Note: BC MSP is not considered equivalent coverage. Students may also enroll family and/or dependants to the Plan during this period. Graduate students who register late should contact studentcare.net/works to confirm coverage and/or appropriate deadlines.
Students beginning their academic year in January are not assessed the Plan fee through their student account and should contact studentcare.net/works during the Change-of-Coverage-Period to enroll. Students registering in Third Semester (Spring/Summer) only are not eligible to enroll in the NBC-GSS Health & Dental Plan.
